SUBSTITUTIVE CIRCLE replaces straight direction in constantly curved spaces. So, for example, on the (Earth-) sphere, the SUBSTITUTIVE CIRCLES are the equator and all meridians. They determine a straight direction in such a way that by moving along them we would get back to the starting point, but from the opposite side.
